October Points Bonuses Reach Marriott, Japan Airlines and More
Current offers include boosted transfers from Amex, Capital One, Chase, Citi and Rove.

Several rewards programs are adding extra points to transfers this month, giving travelers more miles or hotel points for the same credit-card balance. Chase is offering a 70% boost to Marriott Bonvoy until Oct. 15. Citi has a 30% offer for Japan Airlines Mileage Bank and a 25% offer for Avianca LifeMiles, both ending Oct. 24.
American Express members can receive 30% more Hilton Honors points through Oct. 14, plus 25% extra Flying Blue miles and 20% more Aeromexico Rewards points through Oct. 31. Capital One has a 20% British Airways Club promotion through Oct. 31. Rove, a rewards program that does not require a credit card, is offering 50% more Japan Airlines miles, 40% more Flying Blue miles and as much as 35% more Qatar Airways miles through Oct. 31.
Some offers depend on the specific card or account. Citi’s full bonuses require certain Strata or Prestige cards, while a Chase Aeroplan cardholder benefit adds 10% when moving at least 50,000 points in one transaction; that benefit ends Dec. 31 and has a 25,000-point annual limit. Transfers cannot be reversed, and the article recommends checking award space before moving points.
- Amex’s Hilton promotion ends Oct. 14.
- The Chase Marriott offer runs through Oct. 15.
