South Shore Chili Cook Off debuts in Stateline
Golden Nugget hosts restaurant and first-responder teams for tastings, demonstrations and family activities.
A new chili event comes to Stateline’s Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe on October 17, 2026. It begins at 11:00 AM. Admission costs $30 per person, while children under 10 yrs pay $15. Each ticket covers as much chili as guests want to sample, plus a vote for the crowd’s favorite recipe.
Area restaurants will team with police, sheriff, fire, medical-response and public-safety groups. Participating food businesses include MacDuff’s, the Golden Nugget pub, South of North Brewery Co., Tahoe Bagel Co., Fox & Hound Smokehouse Grill & Bar and Bruschetta. Public agencies and organizations represented include South Lake Tahoe Police, California Highway Patrol, Care Flight Reno and several Tahoe-area fire and sheriff departments.
The gathering will also feature demonstrations, activities for families and opportunities to meet local emergency personnel. Part of the ticket revenue will benefit charities chosen by the participating response teams. Organizers intend the cook-off to return annually and draw South Shore visitors during fall.
