South Lake Tahoe’s The Hangar Taproom and Bottle Shop will host the Lake Tahoe Mushroom Festival on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The program begins at 12:00 PM and centers on mushrooms, forest habitats and the ecological links that support the region. Admission is $35 for adults, $20 for children 5-13, and free for children 5 and under.

The Sierra Nevada Alliance is putting on the festival with local specialists in fungi, including mycologists, educators, researchers and field guides. Visitors can explore the subject through guided mushroom outings, presentations led by experts, demonstrations and exhibits. The schedule also includes vendor and artisan booths, live music, a kid zone and crafts connected to nature. For visitors staying in South Lake Tahoe, it adds an education-focused event at The Hangar to the day’s options, with programming for both curious newcomers and people already interested in mushrooms.
