Tallac After Dark is scheduled for six evenings in October at the Tallac Historic Site in South Lake Tahoe. Tours are listed for Oct. 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11, 2026, beginning at 7 p.m. Visitors will start at the Baldwin Estate before walking across the grounds to the Pope House.

The program looks at the Spiritualism movement in the United States and accounts of unusual experiences reported at the Pope and Baldwin properties. About 45 minutes to an hour of the tour takes place inside the Pope House, which has no heat. The visit ends there.

The program is intended for guests 12 and older, and children younger than 12 cannot attend. The meeting location is the Tallac Museum Courtyard at 1 Heritage Way. October nights can be cold, and the parking area does not have street lighting, so the event information recommends warm clothing and a flashlight. More information is available from the museum at 530-544-7383.

What to know
  • Tours begin at the Baldwin Estate courtyard.
  • The Pope House portion lasts about 45 minutes to one hour.
  • Children under 12 are not permitted.
  • The parking lot has no street lamps.
