Carnival Spirit Reorders Hawaii Stops for Hurricane Nolo

Every scheduled island call remains, and passengers will keep the same amount of time in port.

Travelers aboard Carnival Spirit will reach every planned Hawaiian destination, but the ship has rearranged its route because of Hurricane Nolo. The 15-night round trip departed Seattle on Wednesday, September 23. Carnival says each island visit will retain its scheduled duration, preserving passengers’ time ashore despite the calendar changes.

Hilo now opens the Hawaii portion of the voyage. The ship proceeds to Kahului, makes its next call in Honolulu and finishes the island circuit at Nawiliwili. This routing sends the 2,124-guest vessel toward the eastern end of its Hawaii itinerary at the outset. Nolo’s strongest effects are projected around the remote northwestern section of the island chain. Although the cruise destinations had no hurricane alerts in effect, rain, large swells and challenging harbor conditions could reach the main islands.

Carnival excursions already purchased will transfer to the revised dates. Passengers will receive separate notices if particular tours cannot operate. The Victoria call remains scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, and the ship’s Seattle arrival is still set for Thursday, October 8.
