Air Canada Card Cuts Eligible Award Costs by 15%
The discount can combine with Aeroplan Priority Rewards for larger point savings.

Chase’s Air Canada Aeroplan Credit Card now reduces the points price of eligible Air Canada reward flights by at least 15% for primary cardholders. At least one flight segment must be operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Express or Air Canada Rouge. A trip using only partner airlines does not qualify.
The reduction applies only to the points required for the base fare. Taxes, fees, surcharges, cash portions of points-and-cash bookings and several other purchases remain unchanged. A pooled Aeroplan family account may supply the points, but the cardholder must still hold primary-card status if the booking is later changed.
The benefit can be combined with an Aeroplan Priority Reward, which cuts the points price in half for one eligible passenger. For instance, a 30,000-point economy award could fall to 15,000 points through the voucher, then to 12,750 points after the card discount. Card spending can also help unlock Priority Rewards: the card provides up to 25,000 Status Qualifying Credits annually, including enough at the $50,000 spending level to pass the first 20,000-credit milestone.
- A 100,000-point award becomes 85,000 points with the card discount.
- Priority Rewards are selected as Milestone Benefits, beginning at 20,000 Status Qualifying Credits.
- The card costs $195 annually.
- The benefit applies regardless of where the Aeroplan points came from.
