Craig Fraser is scheduled to visit Lewis Galleries at 1555 Simi Town Center Way, Unit 130, on Oct. 10. From 3 to 8 p.m., he will speak with guests and paint in front of them. Gallery owner Mary Ann Lewis has assembled an extensive selection of his work in one location, giving Simi Valley residents a close look at an artist whose career has lasted more than four decades.

Fraser studied architecture at Cal Poly SLO before building a wide-ranging art career. His projects have included cars, motorcycles, guitars, speedboats, scenic design and sculpture. He has produced licensed pieces connected to Lucasfilm and Disney, and he now serves as a creative director for Daniels Wood Land in Paso Robles. His methods extend beyond airbrushing to brushes, erasers, blades, solvents and abrasive processes, which is why he describes himself as a mixed-media artist.

His current collaboration with boutique guitar maker Marc Minarik centers on custom instruments for a Pirates of the Caribbean milestone in 2027, when the Disneyland attraction reaches 60 years. The project will include specially designed cases. Fraser and Minarik previously made 13 electric guitars and one acoustic for the Haunted Mansion milestone in 2019. Each instrument was painted by hand, allowing individual variations while maintaining a shared visual approach. One of those collectible guitars brought $33,600 at Heritage Auctions in 2025.
