Truckee volunteers collect 3,400 pounds of plastic lids

A weekend collection in Truckee brought together 156 Tahoe-Truckee residents through the Shane McConkey Foundation. Participants worked October 3–4 to prepare plastic lids for reuse in local benches. The effort was part of the foundation’s annual Don’t Drop the Top program. The group processed 3,400 pounds of lids, setting a new record for the event.
