TRPA Asks for Tahoe Transportation Survey Input
Feedback will help shape plans for a more resilient transportation system around the lake.

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency is seeking perspectives from residents, workers, commuters, and visitors who move around Lake Tahoe. The survey focuses on travel during wildfires, major winter storms, floods, and landslides, all of which can disrupt the region’s roads and transportation network.
Participants can describe how severe weather changes their trips, which transportation problems they encounter, and how they want emergency updates delivered. Their responses will guide work on transportation infrastructure and emergency communication, including preparations for evacuations and natural disasters.
The survey is part of Connecting Tahoe: Strengthening Transportation Resilience, a regional planning project intended to improve safety, reliability, and environmental outcomes. Findings will be used to identify infrastructure investments and longer-term approaches that serve both residents and travelers. Regional partners will also use the completed plan to strengthen emergency response.
Federal funding comes through the PROTECT Program. Completion of the final plan is expected in late 2027. The Connecting Tahoe: Strengthening Transportation Resilience project page includes the survey, additional project details, and ways to participate.
