Family Story Time begins at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Incline Village Library. Children of every age may attend with caregivers for a shared program centered on language, literacy and books.

The session combines stories with fingerplay and active movement. Its activities are intended to support creative thought, encourage thinking and contribute to wellbeing. Afterward, families may remain for Stay & Play, which offers music, STEAM toys and social time with friends.

Advance registration is strongly encouraged because attendance is limited for safety and program quality. Families should register only the children who will participate. Every adult must arrive with at least one child, and a caregiver must remain with the children for the full Story Time session.

Families are asked to arrive promptly and participate without phones, food or toys. Anyone running more than five minutes behind should return another day rather than enter after the session has started. Caregivers should talk with children beforehand about listening, joining activities and respecting others. Adult conversation can take place before or after the program. If a child becomes disruptive, the caregiver should briefly leave the Story Time area. Anyone who is sick, or has illness in their household, should remain home.

The beach fire pits are back for fall

Evenings at the lodge now end on the sand: s'mores kits at the front desk, blankets by the door, and the lake going quiet at dusk.
