Family Story Time welcomes children of every age to explore language and literacy alongside their families. Books are combined with fingerplay and lively movement. The activities aim to build enthusiasm for reading while encouraging thought, creativity and general wellbeing.

Families may remain afterward for Stay & Play, featuring music, STEAM toys and time with friends. Attendance is capped for safety and program quality. Signing up is strongly encouraged; at some library locations, high demand makes registration necessary to secure a child’s seat. Families should count only participating children when registering. Every adult must attend with at least one child, and a caregiver must remain with the children throughout Story Time.

Families are asked to arrive promptly, silence phones, and put away food and toys. Those arriving over five minutes late should return another day rather than interrupt the session. Adults can help by explaining expectations beforehand, participating in activities, and saving conversations with other caregivers for before or after Story Time. If a child distracts the group, the caregiver should leave the Story Time area. Anyone feeling sick, or living with someone who is sick, should remain home.

What to know
  • Open to children of all ages.
  • Registration is strongly encouraged.
  • Register only the children who will attend.
  • Every adult must attend with a child.

From Cobalt Cove Lodge
The beach fire pits are back for fall

Evenings at the lodge now end on the sand: s'mores kits at the front desk, blankets by the door, and the lake going quiet at dusk.

Wake up to the lake
