Flydubai has stopped service between Dubai and Tel Aviv while authorities investigate an incident on flight FZ-1073. The airline said the decision followed an alleged attack involving a crew member and a pilot aboard a Boeing 737 MAX 8 on September 30. Flights will remain paused until further notice.

The route has been an important link for Israelis traveling onward from Dubai, including to Thailand. Flydubai had been operating as many as 10 round trips each day between Dubai International Airport and Ben Gurion Airport, even as other overseas airlines stayed away during recent security concerns. The suspension therefore removes a large share of available capacity for travelers using Dubai as a connection point.

Etihad Airways continues to serve Tel Aviv from Abu Dhabi, while Emirates has not operated Israel flights since October 7. El Al is receiving requests from Israelis overseas who prefer returning with Israel’s national airline and plans to add a Bangkok flight. Flydubai said it is cooperating with government agencies, regulators and airports as the investigation proceeds.
