Ventura County shelters waive pet adoption fees

Ventura County Animal Services is waiving adoption fees until further notice to ease overcrowding. The shelters received 286 stray animals in September alone, and more than 200 adoptable dogs are currently waiting for homes. County officials are urging residents to consider adoption to help create space.
