Sun Mountain’s Cirque II is a high-end rain jacket built for golfers who want dependable coverage without feeling weighed down. Testing found it kept rain out, blocked wind and stayed comfortable over other layers. Its understated Dark Feldspar finish also worked away from the course, including walks in changeable weather.

The jacket uses sealed seams, water-resistant zippers and fabric rated 20K for waterproofing and 30K for breathability. In practical terms, the tester reported excellent protection without the usual overheated feeling that can come with wet-weather shells. Adjustable cuffs and hem help refine the fit, while a concealed chest pocket and reflective branding add useful touches.

The outer material avoided the stiff, plastic-like sensation found on some rainwear. There was one compromise: it made some noise during the golf swing. That sound did not reduce the tester’s enjoyment, and the Cirque II’s performance reinforced Sun Mountain’s growing reputation beyond golf bags. Black and navy versions are also available alongside Dark Feldspar.

What to know
  • Fabric carries 20K waterproof and 30K breathability ratings.
  • The jacket includes adjustable cuffs, an adjustable hem and a hidden chest pocket.
  • Black and navy join the tested Dark Feldspar color.
  • Swing movement can produce some rustling from the shell.
