Orforglipron showed similar weight loss across menopause stages
The daily pill was studied in women with overweight or obesity, with and without type 2 diabetes.

A daily oral medicine was associated with comparable weight reduction in women before, during and after menopause. The findings come from new analyses of two trials involving women with obesity, or overweight plus at least one weight-related health condition.
Researchers examined results from ATTAIN-1, which included participants without diabetes, and ATTAIN-2, which included people with type 2 diabetes. Women were grouped as premenopausal, perimenopausal or postmenopausal. Each group included between 142 and 225 women who received either orforglipron or a placebo. Researchers compared body weight, waist size and waist-to-height ratio after 72 weeks.
Across all three life stages, participants taking orforglipron had statistically significant weight reductions reaching as much as 14% in both studies. Waist measurements fell by as much as 12.5 centimeters. In some groups, as many as 83% of women taking the medicine lost at least 5% of their starting weight, compared with as many as 30% of those given placebo. The analyses are scheduled for presentation at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes meeting in Milan, Italy, Sept. 28–Oct. 2.
